When you use the Nearby app, we collect necessary personal information including your phone number (for OTP verification), your precise location/GPS data (to match you with hyperlocal tasks), and UPI IDs (for processing payments/escrow). We also collect Camera and Storage data when you choose to take or upload photos for your profile avatar or as evidence for task completion.

2. Data Usage

Your location data is only actively tracked while you have the app open or are actively completing a task. We use this data to calculate distances, show proximity to other users, and ensure safety during tasks. Your phone number and payment details are strictly used for verification and transaction processing.

3. User-Generated Content (UGC)

As a community-driven platform, we allow users to post tasks, comments, and social feed updates. Any public information you choose to share in these spaces is visible to other users in your vicinity. We actively monitor and moderate this content to ensure community safety. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our terms of service.

4. Third-Party Disclosures

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. We may share necessary transaction data (UPI IDs, transaction amounts) with our payment aggregator to facilitate escrow payments. We may also disclose information to law enforcement agencies if required by Indian law.

5. Security Measures

We take the security of your data seriously. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS (TLS). Your data is securely stored on our cloud infrastructure with strict access controls to prevent unauthorized access.

6. Data Retention and Deletion (User Rights)

We retain your profile data as long as your account is active. You have the right to request access to your data or request its permanent deletion. If you choose to delete your account (which can be done in-app), your personal data (name, phone, location history) is permanently deleted within 30 days, except for financial transaction records which we are legally required to retain for auditing and compliance purposes.
